Anniversary of the signing a cooperation agreement with Lacey in the United States.

On March 9, 2005, mayors Zbigniew Grzesiak and Virgil Clarkson signed a cooperation agreement between Mińsk Mazowiecki and Lacey in the United States. The initiators of this cooperation were Hanna and Jacek Anuszewski.

We recall all of our activities together like visits, and talks with great nostalgia.

What have we accomplished so far? We organized the stay of the orchestra from North Thurston High School in Mińsk Mazowiecki and the Swim Team to Poland swimming competition twice. Thanks to the cooperation, we showed the works of artist Marek Chabrowski in Lacey. Pianist Jacek Nazarczuk gave a concert for an American audience. We organized plenty of youth exchanges (17 times total), both formal and informal visits. We organized the Business Week entrepreneurship workshop program twice. Lacey musician Ethan Tucker was also a guest in our city. All the cooperative activities were possible thanks to the commitment and work of the members of Mińsk "MILA" and Minsk Mazowiecki Sister Cities Association in Lacey. Jacek Anuszewski was awarded with the title of Distinguished Service to the City of Mińsk Mazowiecki. Kathie and Paul Perz and Virgil Clarkson are honorary citizens of our city.

The most important value of cooperation is the friendships established. We know that by now they live their own lives, and this is what we are proud of the most. We are looking forward to our next meeting in the real world. We hope that our friends from Lacey will join us in celebrating our anniversary together in 2022.
